Under the motto “Show what’s possible digitally today,” the competition – initiated by the FUNDAMENTAL training center in Remscheid – challenged 42 participants to digitally plan and technically implement a complex patient case. All participants had access to identical digital source data, ranging from intraoral scans and facial scans to motion recordings.
The task was to create different restorations for the upper and lower jaws, including an implant-supported bridge, crowns, a partial crown, and tabletops. The choice of materials and specific implementation were up to the participants, but had to be justified and carefully documented.
Following the evaluation of the submitted competition entries by a panel of experts, the three top winners were announced at a ceremony on September 26, 2026, as part of Dental Power Day in Remscheid.
With his outstanding work, Arbnor Saraci from HIGHFIELD.DESIGN Germany secured first place and proudly accepted the “Golden Abutment” award.
HIGHFIELD.DESIGN Germany and imes-icore share a close partnership. The dental laboratory led by Norbert Wichnalek and Arbnor Saraci has consistently relied on digital manufacturing processes for many years, placing its trust in imes-icore’s milling technology.
A seamless digital workflow also formed the basis for the award-winning competition entry: The design was created using exocad, and the restorations were all milled on the CORiTEC 350i PRO.
Structured processes and the handling of a wide variety of digital data are part of everyday life at the HIGHFIELD.DESIGN laboratory. Every complex patient case begins with a careful assessment and detailed planning – similar to a script in which every step of the process is described.
“We work with a detailed plan for complex patient cases – almost like a script. This way, every single step is clearly defined.”
Behind this success is a strong team that supports one another and creates the necessary space to focus on demanding competition projects. HIGHFIELD.DESIGN Germany’s impressive track record proves that this team spirit and technical expertise pay off: The laboratory has secured first place in all seven competitions it has entered so far.
Reliable and versatile manufacturing technology is especially crucial for complex patient cases involving different indications and materials. This is where the CORiTEC 350i PRO shows its strengths.
The robust 5-axis milling machine, capable of both wet and dry processing, provides the foundation for producing sophisticated dental restorations with high fit accuracy and reproducibility.
This outstanding competition entry impressively demonstrates this versatility: All milled restorations were created on the CORiTEC 350i PRO – using various materials and meeting high standards for function and aesthetics.
A notable example is the screw-retained titanium bar for the implant-supported bridge in the upper jaw, manufactured from CORiTEC Titanium Grade 5 by pritidenta. Here, material expertise and milling technology within the imes-icore Group work hand in hand.
Winning the Golden Abutment award is not only a special honor for HIGHFIELD.DESIGN Germany but also an impressive example of the success of a strong technological partnership. The combination of dental laboratory expertise, many years of experience with digital workflows, and imes-icore’s high-performance milling technology lays the foundation for the highest precision and sophisticated dental solutions. This shared success demonstrates the potential of this collaboration – both in exceptional competition entries and in day-to-day laboratory operations.
We warmly congratulate Arbnor Saraci and the entire HIGHFIELD.DESIGN Germany team on this outstanding achievement and look forward to many more successes together!
